Just When You Thought It Was Safe to Visit Universal Studios Florida… Amity Returns for the Jaws 50th Anniversary!
Cue the iconic two-note theme—Universal Studios Florida at Universal Orlando Resort is making waves this summer with a limited-time celebration for the 50th anniversary of Jaws! For longtime fans and curious new swimmers alike, the park has resurrected a slice of the beloved seaside town of Amity, complete with themed décor, classic props, exclusive merch, and yes—plenty of shark-tastic photo ops.

Welcome to Little Amity
The San Francisco waterfront has officially been transformed into a “Little Amity” village, where red, white, and blue banners set the tone for a nostalgic Fourth of July-style celebration straight out of the original film. Guests are greeted with a “Welcome to Amity 4th of July Celebration” banner and classic carnival-style bunting fluttering across the rooftops. It’s a picture-perfect postcard from the past—and a clever callback to the doomed holiday festivities in the movie.
A Tribute Store with Real Bite
Taking over the San Francisco Candy Factory (now serving as a pop-up mini tribute store), the 50th Anniversary Jaws shop is packed with thematic Easter eggs. From a bite-sized model of the Orca boat to vintage-styled life jackets, barrels, and signage from the Amity Police Department, this retail space is a treasure trove for fans of the film and the former ride.
On the shelves, you’ll find:
- Retro-style Jaws tees and tank tops
- “Don’t Go in the Water” mugs
- Themed bags and lunchboxes
- Posters, postcards, and novelty drinkware
- Collectible 50th Anniversary merchandise, exclusive to this pop-up location
Even the mannequin is ready for shark season, lounging in swimwear straight out of 1975 Amity Island.
Amity Artifacts and Movie Props
One corner of the shop features a display case dedicated to Jaws history, complete with replica police uniforms, “No Swimming” beach signs, harpoons, and scuba tanks. You might just spot a nod to Steven’s Cannery or the WJWS radio station—subtle but satisfying winks to longtime fans.
Outside the store, props like lobster traps, nets, barrels labeled “TNT,” and weathered signage reinforce the rustic coastal town aesthetic. It’s a layered tribute that feels like Amity never left.
Photo Ops with a Bite
A highlight of the area is the new Jaws photo op, featuring a setup that places you directly aboard the infamous Amity 6 tour boat—just in time to catch ol’ Bruce himself launching out of the water with teeth bared. Across the street, the original hanging shark remains, offering another prime opportunity for a fin-tastic pic.
Food & Drinks—With a Side of Shark
Food booths themed to Midway Grill and Captain Quint’s Broadway Snack (classic names from the former land) have popped up near the tribute area, though menus haven’t been shared yet. However, over at Chez Alcatraz, guests can already raise a glass in celebration with a commemorative 50th Anniversary Jaws drink served in a collectible glass.
